Prayer

Prayer is the opening of the direct relationship between God and humanity. The Episcopal Catechism states, “Christian prayer is response to God the Father, through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit” (BCP, p. 856).

Prayer Guild

The Prayer Guild seeks to develop and enrich prayer life in our parish, searching for ways that we can learn and deepen our faith individually and corporately.

Members of the Prayer Guild offer intercessions for this parish, our wider community, mission partners, diocese, and the world and commit for a renewable period of time to pray the Parish Prayer List every single day. On a seasonal basis, they work together to compose the Prayers of the People used in our Sunday services and help develop prayer-related Adult Education events.

Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness. - Psalm 143:1

Parish Prayer List

The Holy Apostles Parish Prayer List (updated monthly) divides all the prayer concerns of the parish among the seven days of the week. Simply pray for each intention or concern on the appointed day. The prayer list is made up of people whose names have been added to our prayer list, our partners in ministry, schools attended by children in our parish, other institutions within the boundaries of our parish, and the names of streets that are within the geographical area of our parish, as well as other streets in the surrounding neighborhoods and communities on which members of Holy Apostles live.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone. - 1 Timothy 2:1

We would be honored to receive and lift up your prayer requests. The details of your request will be kept in confidence by the members of our Prayer Guild who will pray for your specific needs. Please indicate in the form whether you would like the name of the person to be prayed for (only) to be added to our Parish Prayer List.
