About our Sunday School
The Sunday School Program at the Church of the Holy Apostles is chaired by Vestry Liason Beth Johnson, and co-led by Jamie Grant and Joe Zorc. The program is taught by a group of dedicated volunteers who take turns teaching throughout the fall, winter, and spring. In keeping with the church’s mission, we seek to share with our children knowledge of the scripture as well as an understanding of what it means to strive for peace and respect the dignity of all people everywhere.
While children under the age of three are safe and happy with our long-time babysitter in a room full of books and toys, those three years of age and older participate in the Sunday School program.
Our program’s focus supports the mission and teachings of of Church of the Holy Apostles. Lessons produced by the Episcopal Church align to the scripture discussed throughout the liturgical year. This alignment allows for greater discussion of the scripture and its teachings between parents and children. We will incorporate service projects, play, and kinesthetic opportunities into our Sunday School gatherings, allowing our children to learn through experience and expression.
On months that have five Sundays, the fifth Sunday is a Youth-led Service wherein the children serve the roles of usher, reader and intercessor. Our children’s unique talents are highlighted and incorporated into service worship.
Should you have any questions about our Sunday school program, please don’t hesitate to contact the office or, better yet, come visit us one Sunday! We would love to include your child in our fun approach to Sunday school.
