Join us for Worship this Sunday!

July 23rd, 2017
Seventh Sunday after Pentecost: Proper 11
10:00 a.m. Celtic Service of Holy Communion and Healing
followed by refreshments on the lawn

This Sunday our worship is a Celtic Service of Holy Communion and Healing, celebrated at Church of the Holy Apostles 10 years ago when Rev. Melberger was Interim. The service is adapted from the Iona and Northumbria communities.

The Rev. James Stambaugh, Deacon, has been called as our next Rector. He is eligible for ordination to the Priesthood in December.

The Rev. Barbara Abbott, our Interim Rector, will continue through Tuesday, August 8th. A festive coffee hour in her honor will take place after Sunday worship on August 6th. Following her departure, supply priests will conduct services until Rev. Stambaugh’s first Sunday with us, August 27th.

Reminder: The “Little Friends” Preschool, our renter and partner, requests that church members enter the building via the “Parish Office” entrance (opposite the offices). Please be sure to re-lock the door as it doesn’t lock automatically. These safety precautions are  necessary for the Preschool children and their caregivers.

Summer Refreshments on the Lawn after the service, weather permitting.  A sign-up sheet is posted in the parish hall. Please sign up for one of these summer Sundays.  Those Sundays still available are August 13th and Sept. 5th.  Thanks very much!

Carol Block has resigned as nursery caregiver.  We thank her for her many years of service at CHA.  She did not miss a Sunday.  Her phone number and address are in the church directory if you’d like to call or write her.  Moving forward, Beth Johnson and Jamie Grant will care for young children Sundays at 10:00 AM.  We hope to find a new, paid caregiver soon.

Connect-by-Night: Thanks to all who have signed up for hosting duties during Connect-by-Night. Up to 35 men and woman have stayed overnight, greeted by hosts from the parish. With only one more full week to go, this important ministry is on track to finish strong.

Next Happy Hour will be this Friday, July 28th, 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Bring a friend, and a beverage and an appetizer to share.

Next week the parish office will be open the usual Monday (July 24th) and Friday (July 28th), 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
