Eight Sunday after Pentecost/Proper 12

10:00 a.m. HE II

Announcements

The Rev. James Stambaugh, Deacon, has been called as our next Rector. He is eligible for ordination to the Priesthood in December. Until his priesthood ordination, his official title will be Deacon-in-Charge.

The Rev. Barbara Abbott, our Interim Rector, will continue through Tuesday, August 8th. A festive coffee hour in her honor will take place after Sunday worship next Sunday, August 6th. Following her departure, supply priests will conduct services until Rev. Stambaugh’s first Sunday with us, August 27th.

Sunday, August 13th  at 5:30 p.m.: Alternate Family Worship, with pizza dinner following.

Reminder: The “Little Friends” Preschool, our renter and partner, requests that church members enter the building via the “Parish Office” entrance (opposite the offices). Please be sure to re-lock the door as it doesn’t lock automatically. These safety precautions are  necessary for the Preschool children and their caregivers.

Summer Refreshments on the Lawn after the service, weather permitting.  A sign-up sheet is posted in the parish hall. Please sign up for one of these summer Sundays.  One Sundays is still available: Sept. 5th.  Thanks very much!

Childcare for youngest children during the 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning service continues, held in the Memorial Room over the summer. Beth Johnson, Jamie Grant, and Susanne Wherry are sharing childcare responsibilities until a new paid caregiver is hired.

Darby Mission Backpacks Project: 30+ backpacks for elementary students and a few larger ones for middle/high school students, and/or school supplies needed. If preferred, checks may be written to the Rev. Doris Rajagopal, and she will purchase what is still needed and supply receipts. All needed before Aug. 21st. Thank you!

Connect-by-Night: Thanks to all who have signed up for hosting duties during Connect-by-Night. Up to 35 men and woman have stayed overnight, greeted by hosts from the parish. With only two nights remaining, this important ministry is on track to finish strong.

Save the Date: Tuesday, September 19th/Next Darby Mission Meal

Next week the parish office will be open the usual Monday (July 31st) and Friday (August 4th), 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
