Name tags are available in the narthex and also on the table across from the rector’s office. On Sunday mornings please wear one with your name so that our new rector can begin to become better acquainted with you.

SUNDAE SUNDAY: THIS SUNDAY IS A CELEBRATION OF  WELCOME! September 10th marks the beginning of a new Sunday School year. Following the  10:00 service there will be an Ice Cream Sundae Party to welcome back the children and teachers, and also to welcome officially to our parish family our new Deacon-in-Charge, the Rev. James Stambaugh, his wife Deborah, and their children Edmund (6) and Eleanor (4).  Weather permitting, the party will be held outdoors. All are invited to share in this happy occasion!

Childcare is available during the 10:00 service for children ages 3 and younger in the Godly Play Room.

Morning Prayer continues in the church Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 a.m. Next week, in celebration of Holy Cross Day, Evening Prayer will be held on Thursday, September 14th at 6:30 p.m. in the church. The September Vestry meeting follows the service.

We will be providing the meal for the Darby Mission on Tuesday September 19th.  The plan is a Last Day of Summer Barbecue as a reprise to our June event, which set an attendance record.  A sign-up sheet has been posted at church for participants to help set up, grill, or provide desserts and side dishes. Sign-up also can be done using the Google link below.  Meet at the church at 5:00 p.m. to travel together or meet at the Darby Community Center (1022 Ridge Avenue) at 5:30 p.m.

The Outreach Committee thanks all those who participated in the Connect-by-Night program in July. We provided shelter and over 1,000 lunches to those in need in our community. Thanks also to those who contributed to the Darby Mission Backpack Project.

Beginning next week, regular parish office hours will change to Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Reminder: The “Little Friends” Preschool, our renter and partner, requests that church members enter the building via the “Parish Office” entrance (opposite the offices). Please be sure to re-lock the door as it doesn’t lock automatically. These are safety precautions necessary for the daycare children and their caregivers.
